The First Doctor in Musical Arts of Ecuador - Voice Performance

I was born in the historic center of Quito, Ecuador, in 1991, at La Clínica Mosquera. My father, Juan, made a living selling books door to door, while my mother worked as a high school teacher. From a young age, I remember being fascinated by the sound produced by the strings of a wooden instrument hanging in our living room.

In 2016, I moved to the United States with the goal of completing a Master of Music degree and finding a generous voice teacher to help develop my vocal abilities. Fortunately, I was fortunate to study under a dozen remarkable instructors.

In May 2023, I earned my Doctorate in Voice Performance from the University of Kentucky, studying under the guidance of Dr. Everett McCorvey and Professor Cliff Jackson. Throughout my journey, I received invaluable support and resources from Dr. Alex Alarcón, Maestro Marcelo Beltrán, and my family.

A few years after my childhood, my father told me that the instrument I cherished was a guitar, which I have since treasured as my most precious possession. Currently, I live in Houston, Texas, where I perform in theaters, universities, churches, and occasionally with orchestras or accompanying myself on guitar. I am passionate about making music and deeply grateful for all the opportunities I have been given.
